Free-Thought Friday: Taking Over Down Under ...

It's no secret, conspiracy theories are everywhere. Most people believe in one or many, and if not they're at least familiar with them. Well, recently I've had my own, thus the title. And no, it has nothing to do with Australia, or the Aussie population at all.
Historically speaking, when something outlandish is being spewed all over the media outlets and being preached to the choir by higher authorities, more often than not, something *more* important is going on and being covered up. This isn't new knowledge.
We've seen many movies depicting life in space, shows, games and there's even been lots of talk in the recent years about moving modern civilizations to space. But so much of space is still so untouched, uncharted and simply unknown. On the flip-side there have been many successful shows and movies about people living in bunkers. 10 Cloverfield Lane, Day of the Dead, Doomsday Preppers, etc, even Pretty Little Liars touched on this. The idea of bunker life is far less spoken of though.
I have this theory, and bear with me because I may just be insane, that in the near future, we will see bunkers becoming way more commonplace, especially with rising global tension. Here's where the conspiracy part comes into play... We know that people can survive and succeed in underground bunkers and shelters, it's not a new concept, but the thought of entire civilizations being moved underground is more or less unheard of, and very obviously unseen. If the American government hasn't done so already, I believe they will take a group of people in a hush-hush situation and move them to some sort of underground community of bunkers that are connected, with all the necessities they may need. No one will hear about this though. It'll be the government's experiment to see if this is viable. 2 or 3 years later they will release word of this "new" and "extraordinary" idea and they will move a group of people to live underground as an "experiment" to "see if this could be the future". But they will already know it can be done. Once this succeeds, the rich, the affluent and the ambassadors will slowly begin to make their way underground. By the time this happens, fairly quietly mind you, global tension will have risen more. Worldwide depressions, riots and mass mayhem will likely have dramatically increased. New pandemics, less trade, everything we are afraid of right now is only going to get worse.
This is when evolution and natural selection will erupt. Those like myself, who aren't rich, who aren't necessarily important and otherwise wouldn't be missed or noticed if they were gone will be left living above ground. Eye for an eye will be life as we know it. Things will become far more savage. World wars will be occurring above ground with people fending for themselves and fighting to survive, all the while those living underground are safe and protected, to colonize and create a "new" and exceptional population.
The idea of space exploration is great and mighty, but personally I don't think we are there yet. It will take far too long and far too many resources to literally uproot man and create a successful life in space... yet. Underground though, we are already there. We have the resources, we have the know-how, and everything can be done very quietly and unscathed. It's almost diabolically brilliant.
I could be crazy, well I mean, I know I am but this idea could be crazy, but I think I'm onto something. Take some time to sit on this, think about it, really imagine what is going on in the world around us behind the scenes. I'd love to see your thoughts on this, delve deeper into it, expand on it and let me know in the comments what you think!
Until next time, I'm still a little out of touch, and a little out of line.
Xx. Laur
